The work of the Wildlife Foundation in Colombia is already bearing fruit. Thanks to your generous donations, an important project has been undertaken: the removal of dangerous barbed wire, which has so far posed a major obstacle for wildlife.
Many animal species, including the endangered tapirs, regularly injure themselves on abandoned fences. These fences often originate from old cattle pastures and still crisscross large parts of their habitat. Removing the first strands of barbed wire expands the animals' natural range and reduces the risk of serious injuries.
It is particularly encouraging that the first corridors have already been opened, allowing the animals to move freely through the landscape again. Every meter of wire mesh removed is a step towards a safe, intact natural environment.
This project vividly demonstrates how valuable your support is. Without the fundraising campaign, it would not have been possible to achieve such rapid and concrete progress. Together, we can sustainably improve the animals' living conditions and have a long-term positive impact on the entire ecosystem.
The Wildlife Foundation and we at CALDAS Coffee would like to sincerely thank everyone who supports this project. Every contribution helps – and together we can remove many more barbed wire fences and pave the way for a safe future for animals.
